About Yolanda

Yolanda joined Oak Bahamas as Senior Manager, Compliance, bringing over two decades of experience in regulatory compliance, corporate governance and financial-services risk management within The Bahamas.

As a qualified attorney and seasoned compliance professional, Yolanda has extensive expertise in AML/CFT frameworks, fiduciary risk oversight, tax compliance and regulatory engagement with Bahamian competent authorities and regulators.

Prior to joining Oak, she held senior compliance and leadership roles at a leading boutique financial services provider, where she was responsible for overseeing enterprise-wide compliance frameworks, managing regulatory examinations, and providing strategic advice on complex legal and regulatory matters. Her experience encompasses international automatic exchange of information regimes, economic substance and beneficial ownership compliance, together with the implementation of robust transaction monitoring, risk assessment, and compliance frameworks. 

Yolanda is a member of the Bahamas Bar Association, a Fellow of the International Compliance Association, an executive board member of the ACAMS Bahamas Chapter, and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crime Specialist. She is admitted as Counsel and Attorney of the Supreme Court of The Bahamas and is widely regarded for her pragmatic, solutions-driven approach to compliance and governance in the financial services sector.

Outside of work

Yolanda enjoys spending time with her three children, travelling and exploring culinary experiences.
